2011 first half results of insurance brokers companies announced
According to the data submitted by the insurance brokers companies to the Insurance Supervisory Commission (ISC),
In the first half this year Insurance brokers mediated in concluding 518 thousands of contracts, i.e. by 23.6 per cent more than in the first half in 2010. The majority (99.84 per cent) of contracts concluded through mediation of insurance brokers were non-life insurance contracts – 517 thousands of contracts; also, 833 life assurance contracts were signed.
If compared to the same period in 2010, the number of contracts concluded through Insurance brokers increased by 23.5 per cent (418 569 contracts in 1st half 2010, 517 013 contracts in 1st half in 2011), and the number of life assurance contracts increased by 59 per cent (524 contracts in 1st half 2010, and 833 contracts in 1st half in 2011).
Insurance brokers concluded more contracts in the first half this year, thus the profit from insurance mediation was greater, if compared to the same period the previous year the increase was 20.9 per cent. and amounted to 42 million Litas (sales profit of insurance brokers in first half of 2010 was 35 million Litas).
Evaluating the data of the 1st half of 2011, insurance brokers companies mediated in concluding 20.9 per cent of insurance contracts: 21.3 of non-life insurance contracts and 1.9 per cent of life assurance contracts.
