Lithuania and Germany’s joint stock company “Drauda”, which was founded in May 1991, became the first insurance company of foreign capital in Lithuania. The stock company “Drauda” belonged to Germany’s insurance group “Alte Leipziger” till the year 2000. In January 2000 Germany’s insurance group “Ergo” became the company’s the main shareholder.

On the 20^th of  September, 2001 JSC “Drauda” changed it’s name into JSC “Ergo Lietuva”.
